The Palworld server is back!

It took damn long, but our Palworld server is finally back online. Your world, your Pals, your bases and all your progress are still there.
It took damn long, but our Palworld server is finally back online! And before anyone asks: your world, your Pals, your bases and all your progress are still there. You can pick up exactly where you left off.
I also want to explain why the server was offline for so long and what has changed since.
The biggest problem the whole time was our server environment. Since our anti-cheat system PalDefender was only available for Windows until now, we had to run the server on Linux through Wine/Proton. That worked at first, but over time it turned into a real disaster.
At times the server ran for just a few minutes before it froze completely and every player got kicked. After some updates it wouldn't start at all. For weeks I spent hours again and again hunting for errors, adjusting configurations and trying different fixes. Sometimes it looked like the problem was finally solved, and shortly after, the whole mess started over.
At some point, honestly, I also had no desire left to keep fighting the same problems without really getting anywhere.
The decisive change finally came from the developer of PalDefender. He released a first test version for Linux. That made possible what I had been hoping for the whole time: rebuilding the server completely and running it directly on Linux, without Wine, Proton or any detours.
That is exactly what I have done by now. The server runs on the new foundation and has so far held up without the earlier crashes.
For you, everything else stays as usual. The server address is the same, your saves are intact and nothing has changed about the rules.
There is one more thing I want to mention: the Linux version of PalDefender is still in its testing phase. So errors may well still occur. If you notice any problems, please get in touch on Discord or through our Support page. Then I can take a targeted look.
Finally, I want to apologize for the long downtime. I know some of you would have loved to be playing again long ago. The whole thing annoyed me at least as much, especially since I kept thinking I had finally found a solution.
Thank you to everyone who stayed loyal to the server anyway.
I hope we can finally leave the chapter of constant crashes behind us.
See you on Palpagos!
